Hamburg

The best bits:

We visited the Fish Market on the Sunday morning 🐟. It was an early start but definitely worth it and the fish sandwiches (from most stalls) were freshly fried and delicious.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

🍸 We treated ourselves to cocktails at @barlelion for cocktails… it’s pretty traditional I’m decor and approach and not cheap but the basil smash was excellent.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Food Markets 🛒 all seemed fairly well hidden as far as we could tell but we found a great one under Hanseviertel shopping centre called @edika – full of lots of fresh stuff as well as the obvious European chocolate and sweets I was on the hunt for. 🛍 There was also a cookshop in the same shopping centre with a whole wall of cookie cutters!

🍴We accepted for our special dinner, to celebrate my lungaversary traditional German food probably wasn’t the one… instead we went to @vletinderspeicherstadt which did modern takes on classics incredibly well.

A real treat, a table overlooking the water and plenty to pick from on the menu even with my limitations.

Oh and obvs we had a hamburger 🍔…but I can’t remember the name of the place!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Note: we went Saturday AM -Sunday PM somewhat oblivious to the fact that LOADS is shut on Sunday. We found enough to do but failed on the bit of shopping we wanted to do and struggled with finding places to even stop for a coffee as so much was shut…

⠀⠀*Obviously please follow your own inclination, limitations and recommendations. These are places I felt safe and happy eating and was able to pick stuff off the menu easily but places can change so please use your common sense!
